very cold weather and want to have hot or spicy foods, right?? Recently, I upload some easy winter recipes
in my side bar; you can see the pictorials with link in left side bar. I love
to have ven
pongal with coconut chutney and Passi
paruppu sambhar in the cold weather.
Sometimes, our winter lunch will be the hot ven pongal...
OK! Now coming to the
recipe, I prepared the spicy pori/murmura/puffed rice. It can be prepare in a
jiffy and an addictive snacks. It fills
with full of flavors like garlic, peanuts, fried gram and mild spices.

INGREDIENTS
Puffed
Rice/Murmura/Pori – 4 Cup
Oil – 2 Tsp
Garlic – 10 Crushed
Red Chillies – 1 or 2
Fried Gram/Pottu
Kadalai – 1 Tbsp
Peanuts – 2 Tbsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ Tsp
Red chilli powder – ½
- ¾ Tsp
METHOD
- Heat oil in a pan; add crushed garlic and dry chillies till the raw smell goes off.
- Add curry leaves and saute it.
- Add fried gram and peanuts fry it till golden color, add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and saute it for 1 minute.
- Add puffed rice and mix it well till combines well and switch off the flame.
- Serve it hot with tea/coffee.
NOTE
- You can replace the red chilli powder with sambhar powder.
- Salt is not added, because the puffed rice contains enough salt.
